There are a few things that define us as an organization and as a group of committed individuals: we live and breathe our values; we have a knack for going against the grain and trying new approaches, and we believe in giving back because it is the right thing to do!

At BOLD Leadership Institute, we are deeply committed to gender equality as a moral and business imperative in advancing a just society. Behavioral Design offers a new way to de-bias organizations and communities instead of individuals. By doing this, “we can make small changes that have big impacts and collapse gender inequality in our lifetime”

Dr. Iris Bohnet, the architect of this framework, uses new insights into the human mind with data drawn from companies, universities, and governments. Her research-based solutions and evidenced-based interventions help us to move the needle in ways that benefit the classrooms, boardrooms, hiring and promotion, businesses, governments, and the lives of millions.

The positive impact of gender equity on society and the economy cannot be overstated.  But as we work with leading companies and their partners to go beyond programs that target individual women or girls, we have to be mindful of the systemic factors that influence women’s ability to thrive and succeed. We know that CSR programs that strive to create gender equity must be thoughtfully and intentionally developed to consider complex social, economic, cultural, and political nuances, such as household decision-making dynamics, gender roles, and access to resources.

Race, gender and mental distress

Mental illness is the leading cause of disability and can cause severe emotional, behavioral and physical health problems. The implications of untreated mental illness can be significant; so, it is important to get early treatment which can drastically improve your health. Anyone can experience mental distress, but the trend of under treatment in communities of colour, the stigma attached, the lack of health access, and other barriers severely impact quality of life. We sponsor workshops that promote brain health and wellness.

Community Focused: We give where we live, work & play

Our team is committed to something bigger than themselves, and since our work takes us all over, when given the opportunity to make a difference in local communities, its all hands-on board. To date, we have impacted the lives of over 200 women in various ways: from fundraising to purchase supplies for women staying in shelters; building homes with Habitat for Humanity or hosting our annual scholarship awards.

Stewards of the Environment

Urban beekeeping provides a life changing experience for you. Not only does it make you more attuned to the environment, but it provides access to local, healthy food. For BLI, it is just one of many approaches to corporate sustainability, with businesses choosing to allow beehives on their rooftops as a manifestation of their commitment to the environment. Beekeeping and pollinator protection are the next step in sustainability branding. It also allows for a meditative space for participants.

Let’s STEM IT!

We work with young people to understand and love S.T.E.M. so they can create things that will change the world. Learning S.T.E.M. is about changing their story which will change their trajectory. S.T.E.M. is the language of a new generation so they must learn to speak it.
